Discussion:
Backup take a very long time
(te oud om op te antwoorden)

At a customer's server I use the Small business back-up (Small business
2003).
There is 1 hard disk (C:) which contains 85Gb data. We use a ultrium tape
unit from HP.
Several tests whit library and tape tools proofed that the unit and the
driver are fine.
Backup takes more than 14 hours to complete. What else can be wrong (up to
date antivirus software is installed!)

Thanks

I found out that in the c:\documents and setings\all users\application
data\microsoft\crypto\rsa\machine keys folder
there are more than 2 million files (???). Why are they there. Can I trow
them away?

I too have this problem. Backup my sbs systems takes more than 1 day.
Additional problem: apparantly there's a setting in NTbackup that limits the
duration of the job to 23 hours, thus making it impossible to back up the
entire system. I have set up a temporary solution by backing up via nt
backup the exchange and sharepoint databases in order not to loose important
data.

Hallo Herwig,

over doet. Je kunt beter externe USB schijven gebruiken. Dan ben je met een
paar uur klaar.

Marina,

USB.
